Ho'olaulea (THE BIIGGG ONE!!) WE'RE IN!

WOW! Since starting our business, our goal has been to try to get out to most of the Hawaiian festivals in Southern California - Well, the most coveted place to be of any of the Hawaiian Festivals is HO'OLAULEA at Alondra Park. THANK YOU to Uncle John & Aunty Suzette Kaulukukui who helped us get the booth! THANK YOU TO MAILE LETULI who kept her eyes and ears open for us... AND THANK YOU to our MOM and DAD who are our most faithful fans and believe in us!! Last but not least, thank you my husband Mitch who makes sure we're always hydrated and Kim's husband who comes to the rescue in emergencies and last but not least BRYCE, ZACK AND NOAH, who help us load and unload!

THANK YOU MOM AND DAD!!! WE LOVE YOU!

The very first (original) Ho'olaulea was 30 years ago! And we were there!!! Our parents were big in the Hawaiian Community and had a hand in getting the festivals together... I think they have only missed maybe 5 Ho'olaulea's in the history of the festival. We've seen the festival go from North Hollywood to Devonshire Downs, to Northridge Park then broke off and ended up at Alondra Park. Our parents no longer are involved in helping to get the Ho'olaulea's together...one day, they figured, they'd put in their time and it was time for new blood, so now mom enjoys helping at the Aha hui O' Liliuokalani food booth and dad sits under the tree visiting with old friends watching and listening to the entertainment. This Ho'olaulea is always a success, its a time for us to visit with people we see once a year to catch up and share new things, find long lost friends or family and enjoy the entertainment...oh yah the most important...EAT AND SHOP! Back in the day...all of the booths used to have just hand made goodies from members of the clubs associated with the Hawaiian InterClub Council Southern California - somewhere along the way, things became commercialized - very commercialized... I like the feeling that Kim and I make our own stuff and hope that it will attract people who appreciate the hardwork and time it takes to produce our works of art...SOOOOO, Come visit us at HO'OLAULEA, our products are original, hand made and made with Aloha!!
