Aloha Everyone - The time has come...

Ho'olaulea Alondra Park is just two days away and we are as ready as ever! Its always crunch time for us the week before our events. We spend most of our time replenishing our stock, or coming up with new ideas. We came up with a great idea for kids! It is so cuuuttteee! Its a pack of unfinished cards with 8 crayons so the kids can create their own piece of art to give to loved ones! How cool is that! I know you'll love 'em!!! Here's a sneak peak:

We've also just finished making address/calender book sets w/ matching beaded pen. All sets are in Hawaiian Print.

Here's a couple of samples:

In between everything else, we're also making our cards. We've come up with some Japanese Washi Paper Quilting Cards. These are beautiful and take a lot of time. But, its all worth it once the card is completed! Here's an unfinished sample of the first one I made...the others are still works in progress. We will have a limited supply of these at Ho'olaulea, but are happy to take orders and ship when completed.

Kimono!!!

For those of you who don't know where ALONDRA PARK IS LOCATED:
3850 MANAHATTAN BEACH BLVD
LAWNDALE, CALIFORNIA

The park is located between Alondra Park Golf Course and El Camino College.
Admission to Ho'olaulea is FREE, but, PARKING at El Camino College is $2.00.
You may bring beach chairs and ice chests and please wear sun screen - it does
get hot.

We hope to see you there.

Make & Take Projects

Here is a continuation from yesterday...I told you that I would be posting our "make & take" projects! Here is a cute "Slipper" card, this is the first m&t that we made, our instructor, Michelle was super fun and very informative....
After a little break, we headed over to the Stamp in the Hand Booth and made this cute gift card/money holder. We made these out a small manila envelope.

While we were browsing, we came across this cool project that we made out of glass, melting powder and stamps. This booth was very popular...everyone wanted to make a necklace. It was a pretty cool process too...

And now for the finale! This was our last stop, we made these cool butterflies, beautiful, huh?

That's it for now, it was fun sharing. Now back to work!
Have a good Day!

A Sassy Day

Michelle & I had a super fun day today. We trekked out to the City of Carson this morning, leaving the SFV just after 8. After arriving at the convention center, we were both in awe over all of the vendors and things to look at and all of the wonderful ideas. It was a little overwhelming, but we dove right in. We started out with a cute 'make it and take it card".. We couldn't leave until after 3, because I (Kim) entered a 4x6 postcard contest. It was a new category and there were only 4 entries, but, I won 2nd place, which was a $20 gift certificate! Exciting huh? Here's a picture of the card I designed:
In between the make and takes, we shopped, snapped some photos, shopped more, ate lunch, rested and shopped some more. We bought lots of stuff and made some really cool projects. I'll have to post those later. After spending my gift certficate we headed to Uncle Ronny Toguchi's house...He was celebrating his birthday with a Seafood Extravaganza. Our Dad is quite a talented cook, EVERYONE loves his boulliabaise (Uncle Ron's favorite). All I can say is ONO (delicious in Hawaiian for all of our non-Hawaiian friends). We had all kinds to eat, we started with pupu's (appetizers), like opihi, sashimi, won tons, chips & salsa...you name, it was proably there! We ate So much! After eating, we headed home and shot the Downtown Los Angeles skyline. and the pretty sunset. Well, here's just a little snipit of our adventurous day! We will be back to working on Sassy things...

BUSY, BUSY WEEKEND FOR THE SASSY SISTERS

Well, it's Friday, and we have already hit the ground running. We have a lot planned this weekend already! Michelle has been busy with our very own Sassy Sisters' web page...it is still a work in progress, but will be up soon. We'll let you know when that's up and running. She has also been running around here and there picking up things that we will need for next weekend's Ho'olaule'a. I've been staying up late working on monogram cards, notecards gift sets and much more. Tomorrow, Michelle & I are attending a stamp convention in the South Bay, which we are really looking forward to. Afterwards, we are heading to our Uncle Ronny's house in Gardena. He's hosting a seafood extravaganza (YUMMY)! Sunday, we are both planning on working and getting ready for Ho'olaule'a. I will also be getting my two younger sons, Zack & Noah ready for their trip to Maui, they leave on Wednesday.

Aloha,
Kim & Michelle

OMG! NEW! NEW! NEW! Our Creativity is SOARING!

Aloha Everyone!! Well, there's just a couple weeks until HO'OLAULEA ALONDRA PARK and we are creative as ever, sometimes we amaze ourselves too!! For those of you who can't make it to see us in person, here's a sample of our new stuff.

Kim has been busy thinking of ways to make a tin cd shaped canister into a work of art...well, of course she met the challenge and here's what she did!!! These are a must have, the latest rage in "mini" scrap booking." We're calling them CD PHOTO TIN JOURNALS. These CD PHOTO TIN JOURNALS, take so much time as everything is cut to precision, colors and embellishments are coordinated perfectly! After you get these home, all u have to do is choose the pictures you want, cut to size and share! How perfect, than to display in another "one-of-a-kind" SASSY SISTER CREATION!!!

(apologies for the fuzzy pictures...just a good excuse to come see them in person, because, pictures don't do them justice! hee!hee!)

Kim is so full of creativity (amazing that she finds the time, she's usually busy, busy, busy with raising her three very active teenage boys and work!) Look at these cards she's working on...UMMM, YAH...Kim made these!!! CRAZY HUH!!

Of course, Michelle's been busy too. Here's more greeting cards, with a taste of Hawaii! We decided rather than storing the downloaded pictures of the flora and fauna from our various trips to Hawaii...why not share?? Here's a sample...we will have more to choose from at Ho'olaulea!!
