Gypsy Sistas

Michelle & I spent all day yesterday with the 7 Gypsy gals! It was SO cool. We had an awesome time. It was just a fabulous day. When we first arrived in Manhattan Beach, we were greeted by the nicest ladies and were handed these cute totes and a gypsy bracelet kit to assemble...

We then arrived in our "Hip to be Round" class we were greeted by Sande Kriegeer and then found this box of goodies at our seats!

This box of goodies included everything we needed to make for the Hip to Be Round Carousel...we'll post pixies of those when we're done...Also during this class we were suprised by the gypsy gals with more goodies! Boy-oh-boy, what a morning...After our Hip To Be Round Class ended, we were treated to a delicious lunch and another treat. Michelle & I met the nicest ladies from Arizona...hopefully they're continuing to have fun this weekend during their visit to Los Angeles. After lunch we were off to our other class...Gypsy Secrets with Janelle Smith...We were greeted with another package of goodies...

This wasn't all...we were suprised with, during our class we received more loot. This class was so much and we learned alot! After our Gypsy Secrets class, we headed to the Rings and Things workshop with Paula Cheney...Wowee. Paula is awesome...she put these beautiful box of goodies together for us...the box of goodies including everything we needed to assemble a beautiful journal.

We had to leave early for our journey to Kim's son's homecoming game...THANK YOU 7 GYPSY GALS...We came back so inspired and the day was more than we imagined! We are looking forward to another Gypsy journey soon!

Preparing for the Holidays

The Holiday Season is just around the corner and I have been thinking about new creations. I thought these were unique, out of the ordinary red and green Christmas theme.
Both of these designs I used StampinUp Christmas tree stamp. I stamped the trees in white silver. The sparkley blue cardstock was found at our local Kelly Paper Co. (isn't it pretty?) The ribbon is from Creative, Inc.'s Foofalalah line and the cute snow flakes were found at our local scrapbook store.
The only difference with this cards is that I cuddlebugged the cardstock to give it some texture. Hope you liked these...We have been working on more and will post soon! Take care & have a great week!

Groovy Ghoulies

The Sassy Sisters have had some haunting times lately (hee, hee). Michelle has been really busy with her college studies and Kim has been busy with work & family stuff. However, Kim did have a little down time and you know what that means! She was able to create some cute Halloween cards...I bought some Halloween stamps at Michael's over the summer for only one dollah! I couldn't wait to ink these puppies up.

It's amazing what you can do with a $1! I had fun putting these cards together, I used Mind's Eye scrapbook paper from a paper pack that I picked up from our local scrapbook store. I found some cute bat eyelets there too. One day, while shopping at the Target $1 spot, I spotted the CUTEST Halloween/Fall eyelets...of course they ended up in my cart too! One afternoon, I just threw these groovy ghoulies together...ENJOY! Stay tuned for some holiday cards that I've been working on! Take care and have a great week!
Aloha,
The Sassy Sisters

Buongiorno Amici!!

Io sono studente d'italiano! Yes, I am taking Italian and loving it! I haven't forgotten about SASSY SISTERS! We have been busy with mail orders and planning for upcoming events. I'll be updating later with the details!!

So, I started school and i'm enjoying every minute. My biology class is good fun, I especially like doing the lab work and looking at all the funky stuff under the microscope! Do you know what's lurking in pond water - ewwww!! Next week, we'll be looking at the innards of a FROG!!! We aren't disecting it - we're gonna be looking at dried up intestines. YUM! My nephew Noah thinks its pretty cool! I'll be able to tell him what it looked like. I feel like a mad scientist when I'm in lab! Italian is a challenge - but, i'm hangin' on! My biggest fear is getting called on by the professor and having to speak to him in Italian....I know, isn't that why I wanted to learn how to speak it. I'm not really shy - just a little insecure??

Football season has started - so Friday nights and Saturday's are pretty full!

We hope you are all happy and healthy!

Hope to see you soon!

Arrivedercci!

Where did the summer go???

Aloha Everyone!

Geesh, summer sure did fly by! Needless-to-say, summer has come and gone, which means Kims three boys will be returning to school in a few days and football season for two of them has started. Bryce, Kim's oldest is returning to Chatsworth High School as a junior and is playing on the Varsity football team! We are looking forward to his games!! Zack, is starting as a freshman joining his big brother at Chatsworth High School, that's going to be pretty exciting, we know that Bryce will watch out for his little brother and Zack will do well in his studies as always! Noah, will be returning as a 5th grader (his last year in elementary school) to Hesby Oaks. He is also playing football for the Chatsworth Chiefs, which will consume most of our Saturdays until November. So, as you can see, Kim has her hands full for a while...do not FRET, somehow, someway, the Sassy Sisters are still on the lookout for Craft Fairs - especially this time of the year with Christmas just a few months away!

As for me, I left my job after 20 pretty cool years (10 of which I traveled A LOT!)...and took a whole year off to...figure out what I want to be when I grow up?!! After a years journey, I'm returning to college. YEP! I'm ready! I'm taking a full load and will be working towards transfering to a California State University (maybe in a year) for a Bachelors in Business. The really cool thing, is, my Indian Reservation (Pima - Salt River from Scotsdale, AZ) is paying for my education as well as, part of my living expenses!! Wooohooo - free $$!! Its a win-win situation! How could I pass this opportunity up! I will still be dedicating my free time to my commitment to Sassy Sisters...

Here's a few pictures from our last event at the Hueneme Days. My husband, Mitch was able to pull some strings so we could have our booths next to each other. It was so convenient cause he and his partner Greg helped us with the infamous EZ Up TENT...i'm telling you, there's nothing EZ about those things! HA!HA!HA! Mitch is on the left behind the guy with the hat. Photobucket

Kim had some football commitments, so my parents helped out both days until she could make it up there.

Here's dad behind the scenes...

Oh yah...sneak peak!! I love this!! After making things for everyone else, I decided to finally sit down and make myself a set of monogram cards...
CUTE YAH??!! Photobucket

We hope you enjoy the long weekend!!

Some Cards & Miscellaneous Ramblings

Kim here! Hi everyone...hope your August is off to a great start! As for the Sassy Sisters, Michelle has been busy getting our sassy site up and running...she rocks! When you have minute, head on over here It's the coolest. It is very exciting to have our very own website. As Michelle mentioned, it's still a work in progress and we will be adding more very soon. Last week Saturday, Michelle & I turned 40! I think we've been too tired to think about it, but yeah, we turned 40! Fun, huh! Yesterday, I came a across a catalog with business greeting cards and I came across a grouping of cards that I really liked so, of course i tried to mimic it last night when I got home. I think i did a pretty good job, but it's my own creation.

I like the way the cards turned out. I think they look very elegant and I plan on making more! Michelle and I will be at home creating new stuff so check back for more posts. Have a great weekend!

I SURE FEEL ACCOMPLISHED!

Hi folks, its been a pretty laid back week. I decided yesterday to get on the ball and finish building our website!! YAH THATS RIGHT - BUILD OUR WEBSITE! We still have products we will be placing on our site - so it is still a work in progress. Be patient, i'll have everything up by next week. In the meantime, take a peak. You CAN actually order directly from our site. I'll still be tweaking it and making it better as time goes on. Building a site, takes time and patients - I'm pretty amazed that I didn't throw my computer across the room, at times, I got pretty frustrated, but, managed to get through the tough times. So, its official - the SASSY SISTERS have their own site. www.sassysisterscrafts.com Please bookmark it, add it to your favorites and pass it along.

Our next event is still in the works. I believe we will be going to the Hueneme Days at Port Hueneme in Oxnard. The details are forthcoming.

A Hui Hou,
Michelle and Kim

Ho'olaulea Alondra Park is just two days away and we are as ready as ever! Its always crunch time for us the week before our events. We spend most of our time replenishing our stock, or coming up with new ideas. We came up with a great idea for kids! It is so cuuuttteee! Its a pack of unfinished cards with 8 crayons so the kids can create their own piece of art to give to loved ones! How cool is that! I know you'll love 'em!!! Here's a sneak peak:

But, its all worth it once the card is completed! Here's an unfinished sample of the first one I made...the others are still works in progress. We will have a limited supply of these at Ho'olaulea, but are happy to take orders and ship when completed.

Make & Take Projects

Here is a continuation from yesterday...I told you that I would be posting our "make & take" projects! Here is a cute "Slipper" card, this is the first m&t that we made, our instructor, Michelle was super fun and very informative....
After a little break, we headed over to the Stamp in the Hand Booth and made this cute gift card/money holder. We made these out a small manila envelope.

While we were browsing, we came across this cool project that we made out of glass, melting powder and stamps. This booth was very popular...everyone wanted to make a necklace. It was a pretty cool process too...

And now for the finale! This was our last stop, we made these cool butterflies, beautiful, huh?

That's it for now, it was fun sharing. Now back to work!
Have a good Day!

A Sassy Day

Michelle & I had a super fun day today. We trekked out to the City of Carson this morning, leaving the SFV just after 8. After arriving at the convention center, we were both in awe over all of the vendors and things to look at and all of the wonderful ideas. It was a little overwhelming, but we dove right in. We started out with a cute 'make it and take it card".. We couldn't leave until after 3, because I (Kim) entered a 4x6 postcard contest. It was a new category and there were only 4 entries, but, I won 2nd place, which was a $20 gift certificate! Exciting huh? Here's a picture of the card I designed:
In between the make and takes, we shopped, snapped some photos, shopped more, ate lunch, rested and shopped some more. We bought lots of stuff and made some really cool projects. I'll have to post those later. After spending my gift certficate we headed to Uncle Ronny Toguchi's house...He was celebrating his birthday with a Seafood Extravaganza. Our Dad is quite a talented cook, EVERYONE loves his boulliabaise (Uncle Ron's favorite). All I can say is ONO (delicious in Hawaiian for all of our non-Hawaiian friends). We had all kinds to eat, we started with pupu's (appetizers), like opihi, sashimi, won tons, chips & salsa...you name, it was proably there! We ate So much! After eating, we headed home and shot the Downtown Los Angeles skyline. and the pretty sunset. Well, here's just a little snipit of our adventurous day! We will be back to working on Sassy things...

BUSY, BUSY WEEKEND FOR THE SASSY SISTERS

Well, it's Friday, and we have already hit the ground running. We have a lot planned this weekend already! Michelle has been busy with our very own Sassy Sisters' web page...it is still a work in progress, but will be up soon. We'll let you know when that's up and running. She has also been running around here and there picking up things that we will need for next weekend's Ho'olaule'a. I've been staying up late working on monogram cards, notecards gift sets and much more. Tomorrow, Michelle & I are attending a stamp convention in the South Bay, which we are really looking forward to. Afterwards, we are heading to our Uncle Ronny's house in Gardena. He's hosting a seafood extravaganza (YUMMY)! Sunday, we are both planning on working and getting ready for Ho'olaule'a. I will also be getting my two younger sons, Zack & Noah ready for their trip to Maui, they leave on Wednesday.
